Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-rahim, Assalamualaikum readers i am going to share what is Azan, the meaning of Azan, What to say upon hearing Azan, Dua after azan proved by hadith and Quraan.

What is azan-

Many people have the misconception about Azan that it is done to call Allah but actually it is done to call Muslims to prayer, Azan is done at the beginning of each prescribed prayer time and should be made by muazzin of the masjid or by someone who can perform it in the best way. even if someone is alone at any place he is advised to make it before the beginning of prayer.

AZAN                                                                    MEANING

Allâhu Akbar(4 times)                 –               Allah is the Greatest

Ashhadu al lâ ilâha illallah(2 times) –       I attest that there is no god but Allah

Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasûlullâh(2 times)- I attest that Muhammad                                                                                                                                                                       is the messenger of Allah

Hayya ala’s-salâh(2 times)        –             Come to prayer

Hayya alal-falâh(2 times)         –             Come to salvation

Allâhu Akbar(2 times)               –             Allah is the Greatest

La ilâha illallah(once)                –             Allah is the Greatest                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      There is an exception in azan of fazr namaz, The azan of fazr namaz includes As-salatu khayrun minan-nar(two times) between hayya alal-falah and  La- ilâha illallah. which means Prayer is better than sleep.

What to Say upon Hearing the Adhan

When Azan is heard by someone he should reply to the Muadhin by repeating  the words not only by the mouth  but by the heart as well,  but when muadhin say Hayya ala’s-salâh and Hayya ala’l-falâh you should reply La hawlawa la quwwata illa billah which means there is no might or power except with Allah.

Dua After Azan

The simplest dua after Azan is

Which means – O’ Allah! the lord of the ever establishing prayer and of this perfect call, grant our leader hajrat Muhammad the loftiest position of intercession and the singular fee excellence and the highest rank and elevate him to Muqam-e-Mahmood and bless us with his intercession on the doomsday .
